bind belong is a sound journey tracking connections from Appalachian springs and factories to Estonian bogs, Dalmatian stone quarries and subarctic wharfs.

Starting on a bed of field recordings, each of the pieces are expressions of embodied connection to a location, stratifying textures of site-specific channelled melody and rhythms in raw instrumentation, voice, midi tones, digital processing, and rhythms made from environmental sounds.

Moving in the tension created from these intimate encounters, Shoz uses this song format to ask and express pain and complicity around land extraction and destruction, tender seeking belonging, awe and humility, playfulness, and a reach into trust and relationship. Bind Belong is ceremony and invocation, connection to place, ancestor, spirit.
